Many people consider Jebel Serbal the best mountain in the Sinai – it is also one of the toughest. Although not as high as a few other mountains, the surrounding area is very low so the climb is actually the longest, leading up in a very steep gully. There are basins on the top with gardens, water sources and wild life, and the views down to the coast on one side and the interior on the other are stunning. Only the Qararsha tribe in Wadi Feiran is allowed to lead treks to the mountain. The non-negotiable fee for the guide is quite high compared to other areas, but it is still very worth the money and effort.
